Open position: Research Assistant position on physical (experimental) oceanography and Polar Research

Our member, the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS) is inviting applications for a research fellowship in Oceanography of the Polar Regions.

This position supports OGS’s contributions to two key research projects:

  • ATTRACTION (PRIN 2022): investigating changes in the Arctic Ocean over the last thousand years through observations, paleo-oceanography, and modeling.
  • DIONE (PNRA): exploring the dynamics of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet on the Sabrina Coast.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work with physical and biogeochemical data from oceanographic campaigns and instruments like Argo floats, ocean gliders, and moorings.
  • Use software and programming tools for data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, Ocean Data View).
  • Participate in Arctic and Antarctic research expeditions lasting 2–6 weeks.
